Yahoo! is now the web’s favorite whipping boy

Everyone’s got something to say about Yahoo!, web 1.0’s favorite enormous success / also-ran. My favorite commentary is Dave McClure’s trenchant analysis on the topic. Yahoo’s problem isn’t just monetization (the leading theory) or innovation (the popular runner up). Their big problem is that monetization and innovation are deeply linked — you can’t really address one without the other.
